Save the date of Sunday, August 3rd for a cruise with the T-Birds. While the old 'Birds of Paradise' club does not seem to exist any longer, there are still some T-Bird enthusiasts on Oahu. We've been in contact with one of them who has in turn contacted others, so we hopefully will have four T-Birds for this cruise.
We will be cruising from the airport area to Kualoa Regional Park (aka "Chinaman's Hat"). We'll be going around the east end of Oahu, and heading north on Kam Hiway.
Here's the details:
09:15 - Meet in the parking lot at the end of Lagoon Drive
09:30 - Leave Lagoon Drive
First stop: Sandy Beach to regroup and restroom availability. NOTE: use the second entrance to Sandy Beach (i.e.: closer to Waimanalo) which is about 0.4 mile past the main entrance. There are usually parking spots in this area, and there is a restroom.
From there we will cruise Kalanianaole Hiway, up the Pali and turning right at Kamehameha Hiway. We'll stick to Kam Hiway all the way to Kualoa Regional Park. (We will not be going on Kahekili Hiway unless Kam Hiway traffic is a mess).
Once at the park, we'll try to set up near one of the restrooms.
Please bring the following:
- BYOLunch (there are no food facilities here)
- BYODrinks (non-alcoholic)
- Chair
- Hat
- Sunscreen
We will have a couple of canopies for shade. If you have a canopy feel free to bring it.
After lunch, you're on your own.
