Aloha Mustang and Shelby Club of Hawaii
Saturday, March 29 is National Vietnam Veterans Day. There will be events around the nation to celebrate the Veterans of the Vietnam war. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the conclusion of the war in Vietnam.
Here in Honolulu, there will be a ceremony at Fort Derussy and a parade down Kalakaua Ave. We are looking for participants in the parade, all body styles are welcomed (not just convertibles). You do not have to drive a Mustang to participate. Decorating your car in a patriotic theme is strongly encouraged. You may or may not be asked to host a Veteran or Dignitary in your vehicle.
If you want to drive in the parade, please register with Larry Medina. You can send email to him at ponyexpressaloha@gmail.com. Or send a text to 808-387-8263. Please see the detailed schedule below.
If you are not able to drive in the parade, please come down to Waikiki to be part of the festivities honoring our Veterans.
Schedule of events:
3:30 pm (drivers only) - meet up in the Magic Island across from the canoe house to prep and decorate your car.
4:30 pm (public) - Ceremonies start at Kuroda Field at Fort Derussy.
5:30 pm (drivers) - Rollout to Saratoga Ave (might be earlier if we're all ready)
